Job Summary
Massage Retreat & Spa (MRS) Maple Grove Skin Therapist/Esthetician is committed to providing Best Experience Best Results to all clients performing daily Retreat Spa custom, signature and seasonal facials, targeted treatments, skin upgrades, dermafile, dermaplaning, peels, waxing, tinting services along with new valued services added to flexible menu. Massage Retreat & Spa Skin Therapists desire to recommend, educate all clients about dermalogica skin care products for take home daily use. Skin Therapists are expected to be best in customer services, trainable and knowledgeable regarding dermalogica and all services MRS offers. Being a daily team player, professional appearance and great communicator to clients and teammates. Must have or able to provide a Minnesota esthetician license/certificate. Licensed Spa Managers are preferred, compensated for experience, leadership and having a Spa Manager license. Massage Retreat & Spa frequently offers international dermal institute courses along with internal MRS Service training, protocol and boot camp.
Essential Job Functions
- Team player, good communication, good at organization and cleanliness of rooms and complete spa environment. Adds value through completing responsibilities, and understands the value of earning respect from entire spa team.
- Knowledge and ability to offer all MRS skin, wax and tinting services and comply to required MRS protocols for those services
- Educate, inform and recommend each client, at home usage of Dermalogica skin care options for 365 day skin health.
- Follow all appropriate, and trained, best practices as offered in school, MRS provided bootcamp and training programs and International Dermal Institute offerings
- Ability to maintain professional personal appearance, hygiene and outstanding communication with clients and MRS team members
- Ability to understand appropriate and professional conduct at all times
- Complete detailed and professional notes on every appointment before leaving the spa on the day of the appointment
- Prior to session, ensure all clients have signed MRS approved Healthy History Form/client intake form
- Manage all customer questions and concerns with professionalism and courtesy
- Effective communication with Management regarding any staff/client instances that require attention
- Be a Spa Teammate through being responsible for daily Spa upkeep including but not limited to restocking therapy rooms and common areas, laundry, rolling sheets and taking out trash, as needed
- Develop a steady client base through best service, rebooking and recommendation of take home skin care products
- Follow Massage Retreat & Spa policies as outlined in the Employee Manual
Minimum Requirements
- State of Minnesota Esthetics and/or Cosmetology License
- Ability to become fluent in dermalogica product, client recommendations regarding and appropriate use during services
- Available a minimum of three shifts per week (approx. 20 hours) and four weekend days per month
- Must be able to work MRS approved block schedules
- Must have reliable transportation
Preferred Requirements
- Spa Manager’s Licensed – Spa Leader
- Previous spa/salon experience
- Previous retail or product sales experience
- Knowledge and professional experience with dermalogica products strongly preferred
- Previous customer service experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift/carry a minimum of 25 pounds
